The Healing Power of Creative Self-Expression
Overcoming Obstacles & Reaching for one's Potential
I set out on a journey of self-discovery shortly after my mother died of cancer in 1980. Having just graduated from McGill University with a B.A. and was just starting out in life. I had been suffering from long periods of depression and high anxiety along with chronic fatigue and pain, allergies to many foods and environmental sensitivities. My speech was laboured and stilted with no language to express my inner world. As a result I had withdrawn from the outer world and was not able to connect with other people. Needless to say I lacked self confidence and faith in myself. Living my life in this way I became increasingly depressed and was unable to cope with living an adult life.
A few years later I was diagnosed with a form of autism - pdd which gave me some explaination but no hope for my future. I decided to take my life back into my own hands get out of my shell and make myself healthy and well. As a result of my determination I was led and pulled into the Arts by Life. I had no other choice. Art chose me.

I have been committed to my artistry through many obstacles carving out a life for myself as a full time professional artist. In 1994 I opened my own Studio Gallery producing and selling my paintings as well as offering a variety of classes. I feel fulfilled to be able to share my gifts to assist others in their own spiritual journey - through my art to connect people to the deepest part of themselves. Visitors have described the energy in the Studio Gallery as "mystical and universally strong." Participants describe their sessions and workshop experiences as "magically creative". At the Tree of Life Centre for Creativity people experience a profound impact whether they come as a visitor, an art collector, a student or as a client of Body Talk or Reiki.
Committed to my own personal healing and growth and blessed with the best teachers I am now healthy and content with my life. "We can only help others heal to the level at which we have healed ourselves." I founded the Tree of Life Centre for Creativity in 2006 so that children and adults of all ages and abilities can come to discover hidden talents, explore self-expression and nurture their creativity.
